Matthew 17:20 (ASV)20 And he saith unto them, Because of your little faith: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Debbie’s Comment -Matthew 17:20 encourages me. It only takes alittle faith to move a mountain. So in those times of desperation I’m grateful I can claim this verse when my faith is small. I can stand on this verse knowing that God can still move miraculously for me when I struggle to believe.
1 Peter 5:7 (ASV)7 casting all your anxiety upon him, because he careth for you.
Debbie’s Comment -1 Peter 5:7 helps my fear. Sometimes our situation really scares us. It’s at those times that all I can do is give my worries to God. By doing that and knowing that He really cares for me, I can have the confidence that he will help everything to work out for my good.
Ephesians 3:20 (ASV)20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Debbie’s Comment – Ephesians 3:20 shows how much God cares. God amazes me sometimes. I may be asking God for something but because He knows better than me what I really need, He gives me far more than I could ever imagine!
Hebrews 11:1 (ASV)1 Now faith is assurance of [things] hoped for, a conviction of things not seen.
Debbie’s Comment – Hebrews 11:1 really encourages me. It’s hard to have faith when we can’t see what we are praying. Yet faith gives us the courage to believe and to hold on for it to happen in the future.
Philippians 4:13 (ASV)13 I can do all things in him that strengtheneth me.
Debbie’s Comment – Philippians 4:13 really encourages me. Because I put my trust in the Lord, then I know I can do all things because He will help me.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (ASV)5 Trust in Jehovah with all thy heart, And lean not upon thine own understanding:
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he will direct thy paths.
Debbie’s Comment –Proverbs 3:5-6 is powerful. We can’t depend on how we think or feel. We need to trust him with ALL our heart and allow God to direct our steps even if they don’t make sense to us.
Philippians 4:6-7 (ASV)6 In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
Debbie’s Comment –Philippians 4:6-7 is my life verse. Anytime I go through a struggle and feel anxious, I quote it. I claim it. The peace from God is the only true peace that can ease anxiety.
